Jenny: They were trying to kill us!
The Doctor: But they've got my friend
Jenny: Collateral damage. At least you've still got her. He lost both of his men. I'd say you came out ahead.

Ah, now I see the context in which Jenny referred to Martha as 'collateral damage'. Sounds like she doesn't have time to worry about who gets left behind and she'd rather not dwell on it; almost like the people who get left behind sort of deserve to because they're holding them back?

Quite perceptive though, as mentioned in another thread; she has a point in her own way.

We all know nothing happens really bad to Martha like dieing because she comes back later in the series.
Jenny acted very uncaring, like you said, its their own fault if they get caught up in it

Yeah but, if he came to accept her as his own by the end of it she could have been. If he said he 'was' a dad once, implying he isn't anymore, it could apply here seeing as he thinks Jenny is dead.

But how much further into the future was Fear Her set? 20-something? BUt then, the Doctor tells Donna that he was a father before and had lost all of it in the Doctor's Daughter so perhaps there's another child somewhere!
