We have quite an early present today. With just nine days left to the post xmas-special trailer for series three, "TaraLivesOn" has an extensive description of the Doctor Who portion of the BBC Spring 2007 Launch trailer.
As we posted a few days ago, while this particular trailer won't be seen by the public, it does contain the first look at series three and should have some similarities to the upcoming trailer. Beware! Spoilers follow!

i think this is too incense the rose fans into watching to see if the doctor has forgotten about her so quickly. martha may be a flirt but i doubt the doctor is interested more than his outward playful persona. i hope they keep the doctor/ rose torch burning throughout this season as an undercurrent and perhaps why he doesn’t want to get close to martha. i hope she doesn’t try to outdo rose or steal her personality
Hmmm…I think it would be callous of the Dr to move on from Rose so quickly. I think to soften the blow of Rose’s departure, this companion needs to be a non-romantic interest. I agree, a new love interest at this point would really peeve off a lot of fans!

Why even compare her to Rose Tyler? Companions on Doctor Who come and go all the time and they all bring something different to the table. While I agree that amping up the romantic tension is probably not the best idea, I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with the character. Freema’s a quality actress and a beautiful woman so I look forward to how she gels with DT and how her character develops.
I just hope all of Rose Tyler’s fans and shippers don’t bail on the show now. Also I detect a thread of subtle racism on some websites, not this one thank god, but as a black american who’s been a fan of Doctor Who since the mid 80s when I was a kid, I’m happy that the new series is so culturally diverse.
Come on guys, it wan’t just the Doctor in love with Rose - we all were. Having said this, I am open to the new companion indeed. Perhaps a two’s up?

Meh, I’m not loving the vibes here, but I suppose it could work. So long as they don’t try too hard to force any chemistry or anything. She isn’t Rose, and I think if they show that, I’ll be fine with it. (*mumbles* I still would have loved these scenes with Rose *mumbles*)
