(sorry, your browser doesn’t seem to support the video directly)
“pongothedalek” has caught some much better video than the last clips we saw of the filming from Cardiff Bay.
This time you get to see Freema as Martha Jones really close-up (as well as the Doctor and Captain Jack). There are some fantastic moments where she laughs near the end and Russell T. Davies also appears for a bit.
Impressive footage. Funnily enough though I am kind of relieved that it’s more of a visual than an aural spoiler - I would have switxhed the sound off had those snippets of dialogue been audible.
Freema looks stunning with her hair down - I hope that look isn’t just reserved for the finale !
The filming is amazing! How weird it is to see footage of them that they don’t know is being filmed. The audio for this is going to be something. That salute…*melts* And those looks from the Doctor and Martha at the very end…really am wondering what’s going on there.
I have a theory about what they are watching
(look away if you don’t want to know)
the initial confusion might be when Jack steps on the “magic” stone at the Torchwood entrance/exit…
and then they laugh when he descends and disappears
- which they can see, and others cannot, because they are connected to the TARDIS… just a guess though, don’t have any inside knowledge and I don’t believe anyone saw that filmed
Freema does indeed look fantastic with her hair down.
I forgot that she also has it like that for the sixth episode!
When’s mr saxon coming in? Freema’s hair is fab, eh?
A lot of kids commenting on the newsround website have been dismissing Freema as an assistant, before we have even seen her in her new role. This is her biggest role yet so a lot of fans have never seen her act before, except as Adeola, which I thought worked well. She has more acting experiance than Billie had when she joined the cast! Can’t say her hairstyle flabagasts me more than any other persons, sorry!
Part of me wishes that the Doctor would have travelled on his own for a bit (on TV) before meeting Martha. As for Martha’s cousin being Adeola - perhaps it would have made more sense to include this in the TV series too, so that it flows better.
I can’t believe the amount of time and effort people put in to researching the new series and keeping Doctor Who fans updated - well done and thank you! I would love to contribute fan art when my exams are over! Sorry this is such a long commment…
Lauren, it’s human nature (pun intended) to resist change. For kids it’s especially hard. A whole new generation has to discover for themselves the excitement Doctor Who can offer when something new comes along. Few television series can use change as such a positive thing. I am sure by the second episode there will be many more smiles where frowns used to be.
I don’t suppose anyone can read lips, can they?
Loved it when the Doctor sonic screwdrivered Jack’s watch (hand?).
I agree with the Editor, the Doctor and Martha were probably laughing at Jack’s descent into Torchwood.
And I think I’ll cry when we actually see Jack saluting the Doctor in the episode. That’s almost better than him kissing the Doctor.
