Listen to Freema on a Doctor Who Audiobook

It’s nice to know we can still enjoy Freema and Doctor Who after this weekend as “The Last Dodo” is available on CD Monday 2nd July. It’s the first audiobook to be read by Freema Agyeman! Would you like to hear a sample?

three minute sample of Doctor Who: The Last Dodo - MP3 right-click to save
(it’s a bit sad - hope Martha shows up soon to save them…)

Civilisations rise and fall, time moves on - and species die out. Extinction is a fact of life in the universe.

But extinction doesn’t have to be forever. The TARDIS arrives in the Museum of the Last Ones - a facility dedicated to preserving the final specimens of every species in the universe. But all is not well, and before long the Doctor and Martha are in deep trouble.

How will Martha react to the stasis cabinets and preservation techniques? What will happen if - and when - the stasis fields break down and the specimens escape? And how will the Curator of the Museum react to the arrival of the last surviving Time Lord?

This is an abridged reading by Freema Agyeman (Martha Jones)
145 minutes long. It was written by Jacqueline Rayner.

Here are some online shops you can pre-order it from:

Oh I LOVED Rayner’s ‘Stone Rose’…and I’m betting my all this book is the better one of the three, especially if it’s Freema reading it, and especially if it’s as beautifully read as that three-minute sample. She should read more…she makes them sound magical. grin

Oh this part is so sad.

Freema was really good. I didn’t really expect her to do it so well. There are people who are more establised than her and would just read the book stright out. Anyway we have only listened to 3 mins I hope the rest of the audiobook does as well.

Oh, that bit confused me at the beginning of the book. The rest was brilliant, and great narrating by Freema!

Hey, I’ve just seen a great clip of Last of the Time Lords on GMTV.
There’s people running about in the Valiant (engine rooms possibly). Meanwhile, the old Doctor grabs the Laser Scredriver off the floor and aims it at the Master.

Classic! Can’t wait for tomorrow!!!! razz

I’m impressed - that was a very good reading! More like listening to a play than a plain old narration - she sounds very expressive. I think I may have to buy myself a copy of this!

How cool is that! It’s nice to hear a familiar voice providing texture and character to the narration. She’s great.
