BBC2 has started to air short Torchwood series two teasers. No Freema in this one unfortunately but it’s a mashup of Heroes and Torchwood which hints at a timeslot replacement on Wednesday 16th January.

That said, one thing I’m not liking about the direction of Torchwood is the bringing American guest stars. I kind of feel like, already? Does the show need validation that badly already?
And mashing it with Heroes? *shakes head* Easy on the hard sell, guys.
Then I keep thinking how they haven’t really made it solid on it’s own, in it’s own right, so that it needs Doctor Who crossovers and guest stars to draw an audience. It should have a good foundation with it’s own cast first before it starts doing stuff like that - and that’s my problem. The first season despite having a solid concept, the quality of eps was all over the place - so that by the end of the series expectations were so low that you could have Jack in a gorilla suit for the whole ep and somehow it wouldn’t surprise.
With all these crossovers and guest stars I feel like the flaws aren’t really being dealt with, just papered over. Doesn’t matter if the wallpaper is of a good quality and really attractive, you still have a cracked wall underneath. Why can’t they just write the show better first, and THEN add all the audience bait?
Or, you know, just make Martha the second in command and get rid of Owen and Gwen. Although, Owen does bring in a lot of conflict. Hmm.
Isn’t that clip with jack from Random Shoes and I like Heroes too but don’t really like this trailer.
