Freema Agyeman.com a fansite

While it’s been a long standing occurrence on television, and Doctor Who in particular, for actors and actresses who play a small part on a show to come back later as another character (the sixth Doctor for example) some viewers initially were perplexed at the idea of Freema Agyeman being announced as Martha Jones so soon after they saw her perish as Adeola Oshodi.

It’s been said there would be some kind of (brief) explanation as to why Martha will look like Adeola, and now the folks at SFX believe they have discovered it within their preview copy of the first new Doctor Who novel featuring Matha: “Made of Steel” by Terrance Dicks (available 1 March under the “Quick Read” programme). But books are not necessarily considered “canon” (fact) in the Who universe and this revelation contradicts what Freema has said in interviews! (more…)

Just a reminder that Freema Agyeman can be seen as Adeola in the the 12th episode of the Doctor Who S2 boxset, which is officially on sale today everywhere in the UK (in the USA on sale January 16th, 2007).

Last month a new Doctor Who collectible card game (CCG) with a magazine companion, called Doctor Who: Battles In Time was launched by GE Fabbri, after being tested in select parts of the UK earlier in the year.

We were quite pleased to discover that Freema Agyeman appears on one of the trading cards!

Currently the set only deals with series one and two, so it’s for her character “Adeola Oshodi” and not as “Martha Jones”, but we hope to see more cards with her produced next year after the new series starts. This card is #242 out of 275.

On September 25th the final DVD volume of Doctor Who series two is released in the UK. While many fans eagerly await it to see the stunning finale once again, it’s important to note it also features Freema’s debut as “Adeola Oshodi” in the second to last episode of the series, Army of Ghosts.

That performance inspired Russell T. Davies to make Freema a companion!

In two more months, on November 20th, the complete series two boxset with six DVDs is due out from 2Entertain Video. Amazon has a special Cyberman-boxset.
