Back in 2005 Freema Agyeman played a very different kind of character named “Nana” in an independent film “Rulers and Dealers” written and directed by Stephen Lloyd Jackson.

Some shops say the DVD will ship 15th October but others 5th November. If you are outside the UK, note that some details state “Region 0” (which means it would play in any DVD player) but others say Region 2 which requires a R2 DVD player.

While the trailer is kept somewhat tame, unfortunately “Rulers and Dealers” has mature content so the DVD is not meant for minors and carries an 18 rating. Freema appears a few times in the trailer, see if you can spot her.

“The five heads of London’s underworld syndicates meet to propose a ceasefire and to discuss a proposal from a Swiss bank. The bank will pay each of the groups a significant pay-off if they all agree to surrender their turf and relocate outside of the city. Four of the heads agree to sign the treaty but Sosofra — head of the South London gang, refuses. Not wanting to let one person’s decision stand in the way of a very lucrative deal, the other four gang bosses conspire to kill Sosofra…”

Last year Freema Agyeman played a very different kind of character named “Nana” in an independent film “Rulers and Dealers” written and directed by Stephen Lloyd Jackson.

On Wednesday December 6th, “Rulers and Dealers” will make it’s US debut in New York City at the Anthology Film Archives Theatre (32 Second Avenue & Second Street). The film’s UK debut was last September.

Last year Freema Agyeman played a very different kind of character named “Nana” in an independent film “Rulers and Dealers” written and directed by Stephen Lloyd Jackson. Today there was a press release that this film will open at The 8th BFM International Film Festival on September 14th, at the ICA in London. You can read a little more about the film here.
